Mt Duneed Estate Single Vineyard Pinot Noir


Region: Yarra Valley, Boat O’Craigo Vineyard

Winemaking: Whole berry fermentation with 10% whole bunch.  Four day cold soak prior to fermentation in open pot fermenters.  Plunged twice daily.  Aged in oak hogsheads for 9 months – 30% new and balance seasoned French oak.


Vintage 2017 saw a return to more traditional conditions. A cool and wet spring delayed budburst and flowering and consequently we had a later start to harvest in early March. Some truly ideal weather followed with about three to four weeks of blue skies and temperatures in the high 20’s with no heat spikes. The even temperatures, cool nights and long ripening period provided us with a Pinot Noir bursting with red fruits and silky tannins.

Occasion:  Indulge. Think roast duck, roast potatoes and a big chunk of gooey cheese to follow.
