Light golden in colour
Aromas of stone fruit and citrus with hints of toasty oak.
The palate is characterised by flavours of ripe melons and citrus with crisp acid and creamy oak.
A warm spring was followed by a warmer than average Summer during the ripening period. The effect of this weather forced an acceleration of ripening but also retention of fresh acidity due to the cool nights.
Fruit was picked in the cool of the night and then crushed, destemmed and whole bunch pressed. The juice was lightly racked and fermented with light solids to gain texture and flavour. The wine has been left on lees in French oak for 9 months to gain complexity and then bottled.
This is a wine with great structure and complexity and will reward cellaring over the next 5 years plus.
