A deep rich Violet
Rich dark fruits combine with spice and black pepper and a hint of cedary oak.
Dark plumbs and rich fruits combine with fine grained tannins and soft acid to provide weight and balance to the palate.
Vintage in Heathcote was characterised by good winter rains and warm, dry growing conditions which were fairly consistent throughout the season.
Fruit is crushed into batch ferments and then left on skins for post ferment maceration, before pressing off and racking to barrel. A portion remains in tank to retain fruit freshness and the balance is matured in French oak.
This is a wine with great structure and complexity and will reward cellaring over the next 3 to 5 years.
